Following a meeting with Mathias Cormann, the Secretary-General of the OECD, during his visit to Kyiv, President Zelenskiy indicated via a Telegram post that Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has formally submitted the updated bid. It was stated that candidate country status is anticipated to be obtained as early as the upcoming autumn, with a subsequent roadmap toward full OECD membership to be established.

Amid the ongoing full-scale war initiated by Moscow's invasion in 2022, Ukraine continues to advance its pursuit of European integration, which Kyiv maintains serves as the primary security guarantee for both the nation and the continent. Last week, President Zelenskiy reiterated Kyiv's desire for an expedited path to European Union membership. Furthermore, it was indicated that the remaining negotiating clusters with the EU are expected to be opened by July 15, coinciding with Ukraine's Statehood Day.

In a separate development, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Tuesday that he did not perceive grounds for direct negotiations with President Zelenskiy. This position was articulated in response to what was described as Kyiv's strikes on civilian targets within Russia.
